How do I use this website?
Browse our catalog online:
Click on Courses on the menu bar to the left. Browse by content area, or search by title, instructor, or dates. Full course descriptions, teacher biographies, directions, and other pertinent course information can be accessed by clicking on the dark red links.

Request a printed catalog: Email us with your mailing address and we will send you a catalog.

Sign in: If you are new to our site, you will need to create a new student profile. Creating a profile will provide you with your own personal, password-protected account. Having an account will allow you to register online and track your course selections. Click on "sign in" on the menu bar to the left and follow the prompts.

Items in blue are required information. Please choose a login that you will remember easily. The demographic information is optional, and is used by Continuing Education & Community Events strictly for planning and statistical purposes. You will receive a copy of your profile via email.

After you have created a student profile (and on subsequent visits when you sign in), you will notice additional menu options that will allow you to edit your profile, check your current registrations, and view your transactions.

Register Online: Browse through the catalog and click the boxes next to the classes that you are interested in; then add them to your shopping cart. Follow the directions to complete your registration, at our secure site, with your credit card. You will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.

How do I know if there is space available? If a class is already filled, the box will be dark red and you will not be able to check it. Contact the LCSC office offering the class to placed on a waiting list.

Can I register a friend or family member? You may pay for a guest to join you on a trip or at a single session lecture, but you will need to complete a separate registration for each person. When registering online, each person must have a student profile. If you are registering by mail or fax, complete separate registration forms for each person.

Who do I contact about a class I am interested in?
Contact the LCSC office offering the class you are interested in.

When do classes meet?
LCSC Continuing Education & Community Events offers three terms each year: the Fall term runs from September through mid-January; the Spring term runs from mid-January through May, the Summer term runs from June through August.

Class days, dates, and times are specified in the course descriptions and printed on email confirmations.

Where do classes meet?
Class locations and directions will be noted in the course description and on your confirmation.

Who can take Non-Credit, Personal Enrichment Lifelong Learning Classes?
Our classes are designed for adult learners aged 18 and older (ADT 18+). Classes open to other age groups use the following indicators:

  • ADT 21+ Open to adults aged 21 and older.
  • ADT 16+ Open to adults aged 16 (or age specified) and older.
  • FAM 8+ Open to adults and children aged 8 (or age specified) and older; minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • YTH 8-17 Open to youth aged 8 to 17 (or ages specified).

When should I sign up?
Preregistration, with payment, is required for all non-credit classes and should be received at least one week prior to the class start date.  Register early to ensure your place in popular classes and to avoid cancellations due to low enrollment.

What are your policies for payment of fees?
Payment, in full, must accompany your registration. Payment may be made by check, money order, cash, and most major credit and debit cards.

Is there a registration fee?
In addition to regular registration fees, fees for supplies, transportation, or lab use are noted in the class description information.

How do I sign up?
Sign up online by browsing through the catalog and click the boxes next to the classes that you are interested in; then add them to your shopping cart. Follow the directions to complete your registration at our secure site with your credit card.

Can I sign up a friend or family member?

Can I purchase gift certificates?
Yes. Share the magic of lifelong learning! Purchase a gift certificate for a specific class or for a dollar amount that can be applied to a class of the recipient’s choice. Email us for information on how to purchase a gift certificate, or print a form by clicking here (Adobe Reader required).

How will I know if my registration was received?
If you register online, you will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.

If you provide an email address when you register in person, by phone, fax or mail, you will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours after we process your registration.

If you do not provide us with an email address, we are unable, at this time, to process a confirmation for your registration.

What happens if a course is full?
If the class you select is full, contact the LCSC office offering the class to be placed on a waiting list. If you paid by credit card, your account will not be charged. If you paid with separate checks for each course, your check will not be deposited. If you paid with one check for more than one class, you will have credit in your account.

If space opens up in the class, wait listed students will be contacted in the order in which they were placed.

What if my class is cancelled or the schedule changes?
Rare changes in the class schedule may occur due to unforeseen circumstances or low enrollment.  In most cases we require at least five students for a class to run. If we have to cancel a class due to low enrollment, we will notify you at least two days before the class is scheduled to begin. If you need more notice, we suggest you call or email the office to check enrollment.

If your class is cancelled, you can request a full refund of your fees, or to transfer to another course of your choice, space permitting; a refund may take several weeks to process.

What if I cannot attend a class as planned?
If you need to cancel your registration before the first meeting of a class, we understand. Contact the LCSC office hosting the class by phone or e-mail and you can ask for a refund, to transfer to another class, or to kepp credit on account for future use.

Withdraw no later than 7 days prior to the start date of class to receive a full refund; withdraw 6 to 1 day prior to the start date of class and receive your choice of either a refund minus a $10 administrative fee, or a full credit to be applied on a future class. 

A credit is valid for 18 months from the date of issuance; cancellation refunds may take several weeks to process.

Are your classes handicapped accessible?
LCSC welcomes the inclusion of, in all phases of campus life, people with disabilities.  The institution adheres to section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act in making reasonable modifications of policies, practices and procedures in order to assure that no one is excluded from, or denied the benefits of, educational opportunities solely on the basis of disability. 

Where do I park on the LCSC Campus?
During the Fall and Spring semesters, LCSC Parking Permit rules are enforced Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm.  Outside of these hours, and during the Summer term, parking on the LCSC Campus is permitted free of charge.  PLEASE NOTE:  Normal Hill Residential Parking Zones are not available for student use Monday through Friday, 8am to 3pm; Normal Hill Parking Zones are enforced year-round.

Parking on the LCSC Campus is permitted in areas marked by parking space lines or signs.  All other areas are officially declared no parking zones.  The responsibility of finding a legal parking space rests with the vehicle operator; lack of space is not considered to be a valid reason for violation of these regulations.  Vehicles parked in unauthorized spaces or areas are subject to towing at the owner's expense.

Can I make up missed classes?
Students may not make up absences by attending classes other than their own.

If a class session is postponed by an instructor or due to extreme weather, a make-up will be scheduled. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled class, please email us in advance and we will arrange to give you a credit for the missed class.

What if I am not satisfied with a class?
Our commitment is to quality and to you.  Your satisfaction is our primary goal.  We know that our instructors are excellent, and that our programs are solid; but, if your class does not measure up to your expectations, please contact the LCSC office hosting the class and give us the opportunity to do something about it.  We want you to be satisfied.

With our no-risk registration, you can sign up with the knowledge that if you are not satisfied with the quality of your learning experience, we will happily issue your choice of a refund, transfer to another class, or credit.
